2019 International Symposium: The Influence and Future Development of AI in Justice
International Dialogue on Technology and Law
As the Academy for the Judiciary is responsible for cultivating Taiwan’s judicial talent, its annual international symposium serves as a vital platform for gaining international insights and connecting with the global community. Given that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a core engine driving national development, this year’s symposium focused on the challenges technology poses to the judiciary. Under the theme "The Influence and Future Development of AI in Justice," top experts and scholars from the United States and South Korea were invited for in-depth exchanges, aiming to create a professional event with both academic depth and practical value.
Visual Design that Communicates Core Values
Successful visual design strikes at the very soul of a symposium. For the visual tone, Intercon provided multiple design options from the proposal stage. After intensive communication and integration of feedback with the organizer, the final design concept was settled on "The Fusion of the Scales of Justice and Technological Elements." It utilizes streamlined waves to symbolize dynamic human interaction, forming the main visual identity. Meanwhile, warm-colored blocks are layered in the background to inject a warm visual dimension into the rigorous topics.
Site-Specific Route Planning
Considering that this symposium spanned two buildings and covered the Administrative Area, the Teaching Area, and the Dormitory Area, the transitions between vertical and horizontal points posed a significant challenge for route planning. The golden rule of route arrangement is to see through the eyes of the attendees. We placed systematic visual guidance signs and floor decals at key transition points, such as elevator exits, stairwells, and cross-building bridges. This effectively linked the scattered spaces, ensuring attendees could travel intuitively and smoothly between the main venue (5F, Administrative Area), the dining area (B1 Restaurant, Dormitory Area), and the tea break area (6F, Teaching Area).
Challenging Audiovisual Planning
Regarding audiovisual engineering, the organizer requested the interpretation booths be located in the dressing room behind the stage. Since the interpreters could not directly see the speakers' speed and expressions, we installed dedicated cross-zone lines and added monitoring screens in the dressing room to provide seamless, real-time simultaneous interpretation services. Another challenge was the integration of video documentation. Facing a symposium spread across different areas and floors, we conducted prior site surveys and meticulous wiring planning. By combining fixed cameras with mobile camera operators, we successfully captured the two-day event, providing complete footage for the highlight video.
Tailor-Made Background Music
In general conferences, background music merely plays a supporting role in creating an atmosphere. However, this symposium, following tradition, had high standards for musical arrangement. Therefore, the opening ceremony specially featured Taiwanese folk songs performed by an orchestra. As the innovative arrangement intertwined into a majestic atmosphere, it not only amazed the entire audience but also allowed foreign guests to deeply appreciate Taiwan’s rich cultural heritage. At the same time, we carefully studied the professional backgrounds of each moderator and speaker to create customized walk-on music. For foreign guests, we arranged representative melodies from their respective countries, leaving them deeply moved. Such thoughtful arrangements won high praise from the organizer, who commended it as the most professional and high-quality musical planning over the years.
Conclusion: This was an executive experience that seamlessly combined professional technology with soft services. Within the constraints of a fixed budget and venue, we consistently stood in our client's shoes, elevating the refined quality of professional conference consultancy to its highest standard, and successfully delivering an international project of diplomatic caliber.
