The 23rd Congress of Asian Society for Vascular Surgery in conjunction with The 18th Annual Meeting of TSVS
International Vascular Surgery Congress Returns to Taiwan
In October 2022, the 23rd Congress of the Asian Society for Vascular Surgery, in conjunction with the 18th Annual Meeting of the Taiwan Society for Vascular Surgery, took place at the Taipei Marriott Hotel. Returning to Taiwan after 11 years, the congress coincided with the gradual reopening of international travel post-pandemic. It attracted 503 medical professionals from 23 countries, including 45% international speakers, showcasing Taiwan’s capabilities in hosting world-class medical conferences and elevating its visibility in the Asia-Pacific vascular surgery community.
Streamlined Speaker and Session Management
Over three days, the conference featured 124 scientific sessions, 48 oral presentations, and 26 poster displays covering vascular surgery, endovascular treatment, and clinical innovation. Our team coordinated speaker rehearsals, time management, and on-site flow, enabling attendees to focus on content without disruption.
We also assisted the organizers in securing multiple government grants and managed over 120 speakers—from invitations and visa applications to online presentation support and on-site reception—ensuring a seamless experience for both local and international faculty.
Hybrid Format Connecting On-Site and Online Participants
To accommodate some speakers and attendees unable to travel, the congress adopted a hybrid format, integrating live-streaming and interactive online platforms with robust pre-event testing and contingency planning. The official website hosted both conference materials and a members-only live-stream page. The registration system introduced Apple Pay for the first time, simplifying the registration process for attendees.
Enabling Cross-Border Knowledge Exchange
High-profile international scholars, including members of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) and the Asian Society for Vascular Surgery (ASVS) boards, joined in person. Our team provided end-to-end support, including transportation, administrative assistance, and on-site guidance. A special welcome dinner featured professional bilingual hosts and a live band performing regionally significant pieces for committee members from Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, and the U.S., delivering a memorable experience. The closing ceremony incorporated planning for the next edition’s handover, ensuring continuity of the congress’s legacy.
Delivering a Seamless and Professional Experience
By integrating session planning, speaker coordination, hybrid participation, and on-site flow management, the 23rd Congress offered a seamless and comprehensive conference experience. Beyond a medical meeting, it marked a milestone in reconnecting the Asia-Pacific vascular surgery community, facilitating knowledge exchange, and fostering long-term collaboration.
